  • Valerie Ross

    Valerie Ross, Chief Development Officer at Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, attended Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington and continued fundraising studies at Indiana University. She discovered her passion for philanthropy during her tenure working with student staff at the Walla Walla University, where Valerie served as Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Relations.

    With the help and support of the Foundation Impact Team, Valerie’s role in building a new hospital foundation gives her the opportunity to develop friendships in the community. She sees our donors as very special partners in the healing ministry of Christ, and is committed to creating lasting partnerships for Castle Rock Adventist Hospital.

    Valerie and her husband, Bob, have four children and four grandchildren. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Castle Pines. In her free time, Valerie enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, volunteering and spending time with family.

    Todd FolkenbergPrior to joining Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus, Mr. Folkenberg served as Chief Operating Officer at Porter Adventist Hospital from 2009 through 2012. He has been with Centura Health since 2005. He began with the corporate Revenue Management division and later transitioned to St. Anthony Central Hospital, where he held the position of Vice President Operations and Chief Business Officer.

    Mr. Folkenberg's main responsibilities will be split between maintaining departments currently open and serving patients, in addition to preparing for the hospital's 2013 completion date. Previously, Mr. Folkenberg had an integral role in the planning and development of St. Anthony Central Hospital's new Lakewood, CO, medical campus, as well as development of its new service line structure and operational oversight for several key services.

    Prior to Centura Health, Mr. Folkenberg worked in various business development and operations improvement roles at Duke University Medical Center. He also co-founded a consulting firm focusing on physician performance and strategic alignment of hospital-employed physician practices. Mr. Folkenberg graduated from Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Long-Term Health Care and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He went on to obtain his Master's in Health Services Administration from George Washington University.

    John AltomariJohn was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA with a BA degree.  Most of his career was spent in the Financial Services Industry with Mutual Benefit Life where he grew through the ranks to become Vice President, Field Services in 1982. During those years John achieved the professional designations of CLU and ChFC. In 1984 he moved his family to Colorado to broaden his career and joined a regional insurance group, Crump, Warren & Sommer, later, through mergers and acquisitions, Sedgwick James of Colorado where he served as Vice President, Sales Manager until 1990.

    In 1991, having tired of corporate life, he and his wife Annlouise (Weez) ventured out as entrepreneurs and purchased a graphic design and printing company, AltoGraphics Inc. as a franchisee for PIP Printing.  After 5 years, and having won the “Best of the West”  award among 700 franchisees, they sold their business to another franchisee with John continuing in the business as it’s principal outside salesperson.

    In 2009, John retired from his active business life to concentrate on his many volunteer activities which include the Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock (Past President and current Board Member), The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Current Board Member Denver East), Peakview HOA (Board member), and The Colon Cancer Alliance (Co-Chair of the Denver Undy Race/Walk).

    He and his wife Weez have been married for 45 years. Their first son Greg was lost to colorectal cancer in February 2009 at age 37, which fuels their passion for the fight against this disease. Their second son Chris and his wife Brooke have blessed them with two grandchildren; Delaney and Wiley.

    Marcy BlairAs Vice President of Cisco Services, Marcy Blair leads the Americas Partner Sales organization. She is responsible for the Americas Services Partner Program which includes all sales, marketing and enablement programs.

    For the past six years, Marcy led Americas Enterprise Sales for Cisco Services. She is recognized for building one of the largest growth segments in the company. Her success is attributed to her highly collaborative style and in building trusting relationships with customers, partners and extended teams, all with a focus on mutual success.

    Marcy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Additionally, she completed the advanced program in Corporate Resource Management from I.M.D. International in Lausanne, Switzerland.

    Marcy serves on the board of directors for both the Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS) at the University of Colorado and Junior Achievement and is part of the Foundation Impact Team for Castle Rock Adventist Hospital. She resides in Denver, Colorado with her family.

    Chris CareyChristopher D. Carey as President of the Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation leads fundraising for the Adventist Hospitals of Centura Health.

    Prior to Centura Health, Chris served as vice president for advancement and strategic planning for Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee where he launched a $75 million campaign surpassing past accomplishments by 500%.  He also pioneered work in Ghana to grow the first accredited private university in the country, Valley View University.  Chris has served in various foundation roles at several nonprofits with fundraising leadership experience in Europe, Asia, South America and across the States.

    Chris holds a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and dual bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Public Relations from Andrews University.  Since 1998, Chris has held the distinction of being a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

    In his free time, Chris enjoys running, volunteering, exploring big ideas, cross-cultural exchange, outdoor activities, planting anything that grows, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

    Barbara DashBarbara Dash retired from CH2M HILL after a professional career in organization development and learning there and in aerospace and computer companies. She holds a bachelors degree in behavioral sciences from Oklahoma City University and a masters degree in counseling from the University of Oklahoma.  Since retiring, she has been actively engaged in community volunteering, having served on the Castle Rock Planning Commission and on the Douglas County Libraries Board of Trustees.  She continues to volunteer with the library district on special projects and is a member of a community leadership group in Castle Rock.  She was  recently inspired to join the CRAH Foundation Impact Team as a means of giving back in memory of her late sister and in appreciation for the care her sister received at the hospital.  In addition to their volunteer work, she and her husband enjoy travel, day trips, outdoor activities, and time spent with her daughter and grandchildren in Minnesota.

    Christel DikemanChristel  and her husband Steve have lived in Denver since the mid 1970’s.  They  moved to the Castle Rock community in November of 2014 when Christel  began  enjoying her next chapter…..Retirement.  She  spent the last 40 years in the retail industry with the Denver Dry Goods Company, May D & F, Meier & Frank and most recently with Neiman Marcus where she was the Vice President General Manager of the Cherry Creek location for nearly 20 years. 

    Christel has volunteered at the Sky Ridge Medical Center since March of 2015 and is looking forward to contributing to the Castle Rock community through her involvement with the Castle Rock Hospital Foundation.

    Christel and Steve have been married for 33 years and have a daughter and new son in law living in the Denver area and a son who lives in Washington D.C.

    Deborah Asarch FitchDeborah Asarch Fitch, the Practice Administrator for the Asarch Center for Dermatology, Laser and Mohs Surgery, enjoys working in the medical field, and finds helping patients the most rewarding part of her career. 

    She grew up in a family who made it a priority to give back to the Colorado community, and where philanthropy was and still is a way of life, and feels so honored to have been considered to be a part of this new foundation and looks forward to working for the Castle Rock Community. Deborah lives on a working farm in Franktown, Colorado with her husband, Cameron, and three children, Jonah, Tessa and Drew.

    Lisle GatesLisle Gates, a 3rd-generation Coloradoan from Ft. Collins, was an educator/consultant for 48 years. After graduating from Phillips University in Oklahoma and his Master’s Degree from Western State, he got his start teaching History, English and PE, and worked his way through the ranks in central California schools for 26 years. During that time, he also coached football, wrestling and girls’ volleyball. He was awarded his Doctorate in Education at the University of Laverne in southern California.

    As he tells it, he returned to “The Promised Land” of Colorado in 1995, to become the principal of Highlands Ranch High School. During his tenure, HRHS was recognized by the State of Colorado as a “School of Excellence,” and its CSAP scores were among the highest in the state.

    One of Lisle’s longtime professional dreams was to open a new high school and that dream came true in 2005 when he was selected to open a new school in Castle Rock. He led a core team of teachers who spent a year researching “high school reform,” opening the school’s doors using an Academy Model (school-within-school). He established a leadership model empowering teachers and other staff members to lead the school’s curricular and instructional programs.

    Lisle is married to Carole Murray and Carole has 2 daughters. Rachel is the Interpretation Manager at the Denver Botanic Gardens and Claire is in administration at the Arapahoe County Jail. Carole is a former State Representative, Douglas County Clerk and Recorder, and President of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce.

    Lisle has two sons, both pharmacists. His oldest son, Aaron, is a Director of Pharmacy in a hospital in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. His son Ryan is a Pharmacist Department Director in a major hospital in Visalia, California. Both sons are married, and Lisle has 13, soon to be 14 grandchildren. Lisle’s daughter, Shawna, is a Civil Engineer and works for the City of San Francisco.

    Lisle has served on various boards and believes it is important to give back to his community. He loves Castle Rock and is honored to have the opportunity to serve on the hospital’s Foundation Board.

    Wayne KlassenWayne owns and operates his American Family Insurance Agency in the south end of the Denver Metro area where he and his team truly enjoy helping others through business and personally as well.  His business is not just there to provide peace of mind for the customers but to actually lift the spirits of all they come in contact with. He believes that “work” is the way to really make a difference in people’s lives beyond the product that may be provided.

    Wayne is a proud Colorado native, (in fact he was born at Porter Adventist when it had a maternity floor)…And a graduate of Colorado Christian University with a background in Christian Ministries, both para church and church related leadership positions.  He and his wife Toni are residents of Douglas County in Larkspur. They enjoy spending time with their 3 grown daughters and boating when time allows.

    Mary Ann LittlerMary Ann is an accomplished Senior Executive with an extensive background in business – large, small, global and domestic – startup and mature, where she has gained experience and insight into building high performance teams.

    She is an accomplished speaker on a global scale with multinational users groups, Business Partners, AGMA, customers of AT&T, Lucent, Avaya, Cisco and Bank of America. Mary Ann has been recognized as “the Voice” of companies seeking to create credibility and improve upon relationships both inside and outside organizations.

    She has been sought out to take on new initiatives such as creating a consistent global technical support team for Fortune 500 customers. She understands how to build a culture of inclusion where people can work together toward a common set of goals and achieve success.

    Throughout her career she has continued to accelerate in responsibility, and has successful first- hand experience with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technical Support, Product and Relationship Management. Her P&L background has run the spectrum from $100M to $1.5B. And she has built organizations from the startup phase as well as leading mature teams through significant change.

    Mary Ann also is involved in the community by serving on several non-profit Boards.

    Mary Ann has been married to husband Dave for 33 years, and has two sons- Greg and Dan. She loves to travel both locally and internationally.  And she is passionate about Lacrosse and Formula 1 Racing. She is a third generation Colorado Native.

    Meme Dunckel Martin is a retired executive in the fields of association management and government. Meme worked in public administration serving as Economic Development Manager for Douglas County. In the private sector she has over 20 years of experience as CEO of various non-profit organizations including the Castle Rock Economic Development Council, Colorado Horse Park, Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Golden Chamber of Commerce and Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. 

    Throughout her career, Meme Dunckel Martin provided executive leadership to government, economic development and business associations in Colorado. In retirement, Meme provided project consultation and interim CEO services through her consulting firm, On Call Executives.

    Meme has always been active in the community both as a volunteer and sitting on numerous non-profit boards of directors including the Douglas County Community Foundation Board, Arapahoe Community College Advisory Board and Douglas County Libraries Board of Trustees. She also has served as a board member for numerous professional organizations. Meme received her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin and her Executive Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.

    Meme is the co-founder and co-coordinator for the Castle Rock Adventist Hospital Angel Paws (therapy dog program). She also sits on the Castle Rock Bank Board of Directors and volunteers at her church. Meme lives south of Castle Rock with her husband, Larry, two dogs (including Angel Paws Therapy Dog Buddy), horses, cows and a miniature donkey.

    Andy was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Pharmacy. He moved to Colorado in 1971 and then to Castle Rock in 1974 to practice pharmacy at Russ Drug Store. He then opened drug stores in Parker in 1975 and Elizabeth in 1978, along with other convenient stores and Hallmark stores in Castle Rock, Parker, Elizabeth, Larkspur, and Littleton. He retired from pharmacy in 1997 to become involved in agribusiness and real estate development.

    Over the years Andy has been involved in the Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, and the finance committee at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He and his wide Judy have raised their two daughters, Laurie and Marcie, in Castle Rock. Andy is very excited to have a hospital in Castle Rock and is honored to be a part of the Foundation Impact Team.

    Judy RobinsonA Castle Rock resident since 1974, Judy and her husband Andy raised their two daughters here and opened several businesses in Douglas County.  Judy served on the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce Board, some Douglas County School District Committees and served as President of Tri-County Board of Health.

    Although, now retired, she holds a PhD in nursing and held a variety of interesting positions during her working career.  She was a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for a Family Practice, developed the Health Services Program for Douglas County Schools and later served as the Student Services Coordinator, was the Director of Nursing for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Executive Director of the National Association of School Nurses and ended her career as the Executive Director of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.

    Her retirement activities include volunteering for a nursing group, a church group and the Impact team, traveling, gardening, reading, puzzles, enjoying their lake house and spending time with family and friends.  She loves to cook and entertain and is always looking for new recipes.

    Courtney Tucker

    Courtney was born and raised in Castle Rock, when it was a small town of 3500. She went to college in Steamboat Springs and finished her degree in Denver. She works for the family construction company in Castle Rock as an estimator, she just celebrated her 13th year. She lives in Castle Rock with her husband and toddler daughter and is expecting a new addition in spring 2017. Her and her family enjoy hiking in nature, gardening and being in the mountains. She has experienced the growth in Castle Rock and is proud that our community is of the caliber to be home to CRAH, she is proud of the role that the hospital has taken in community and wants to be an integral part of it.
