  • Colonoscopies - Important test for the detection of colon and rectal cancer

The most common symptom of colon and rectal cancer is no symptoms at all, making colonoscopy screenings extremely important.

A colonoscopy is the best way to detect masses, polyps or colon cancer early. Colon cancer is the second most deadly cancer, but when detected early with a colonoscopy, it is the most treatable.

Colonoscopy screenings can feel intimidating or embarrassing, but it is not painful and saves lives. At Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, we take great care in assuring you are comfortable throughout your procedure.

A first colonoscopy should be performed at age 50, and as recommended by your doctor if you have known risk factors for colon cancer.
